Phony

The work was composed for 10 cellphones and one toy phone.

The piece was commissioned by Swedish Television and the first performance was in the program Evening opened -95.

The music is based on the quintessence sounds that emerges as you press the digits on your cellphone.

These are categorized in a 10 part composition where the toy phone works as a "rhythm phone".

The ensemble at the first performance were from the Academy of Music and Drama at University of Gothenburg's Chamber Choir and was led by Gunnar Eriksson.
